I tried TukTuk Thai Cuisine at a recent Food Truck Bazaar in Casselberry. This was my first time coming across this food truck. I'm not sure how long they've been around, but I decided to try their take on mobile Thai food.
I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai. The noodles were cooked with egg, tofu, bean sprouts, peanuts, and cilantro. The Pad Thai had plenty of flavor, but I would have preferred slightly larger shrimp. The tiny little shrimp in the dish were somewhat sad looking.
TukTuk was okay. It was good, but not outstanding. Their prices seemed a bit more affordable for what you get compared to some of the other food trucks that frequent the bazaars. I'd try something else from TukTuk, but not before I try some other food from trucks which I haven't tasted yet.

3-6-9 Chinese Restaurant in Casselberry, FL
3-6-9 Chinese Restaurant is located in a strip mall in Casselberry. I remember several different Chinese/Japanese restaurants occupying this space over the years. Sadly, we were the only customers in the large restaurant on my visit. I hope they do good business for take-out...

I ordered the Singapore Chow Mei Fun. There was a bit of a kitchen misunderstanding, so I ended up being served lo mein noodles instead. I was originally thinking about having lo mein, so I really didn't have much of a problem with the mix-up. The noodles were served in a curry sauce with pork, shrimp, chicken, and vegetables. The lo mein tasted good, and the portion was huge. It turned into two meals!

To apologize for the mistake of using the wrong kind of noodles, everyone at the table got complementary ice cream for dessert! Can't complain there!

New Peking Buffet in Casselberry, FL
New Peking Buffet recently opened in the building previously occupied by Barnhill's Buffet in Casselberry. This Chinese restaurant didn't do much to change the outside of the barn-like building. Contrasting with the outside, lots of Chinese style architecture and decorations were added around the interior of the restaurant, removing just about all trace of the country theme left by the previous occupant of the building.
My first trip to the buffet resulted in a plate of lo mein, tofu with mixed vegetables, string beans, and chicken with broccoli. The tofu was really good, yet I'm assuming few people eating in the restaurant tried it. I don't understand why tofu has such a bad reputation...
Next I tried some dumplings, vegetable rolls, krab rangoon, and a sesame ball.
Finally, I gave their Mongolian BBQ a try. Noodles, shrimp, scrambled egg, onions, carrots, celery, and broccoli was all cooked in teriyaki sauce on a hot grill. It was really tasty, although the broccoli wasn't cooked long enough. At this point, I had eaten far too much food and I was done...
I was impressed with the food at New Peking Buffet compared to other nearby Chinese buffets. Everything seemed fresh, and there was a really nice selection of food. While I'd prefer a Chinese restaurant with a menu over a buffet, this was tasty as far as buffets go. New Peking Buffet had only been open a few weeks when I ate there and was really crowded. Perhaps I'll return after it's open a while to see if their seemingly good quality and turnover continues...

Patsio's Diner in Casselberry, FL
I ate at this Greek diner called Patsio's in Casselberry. Being that Greek diners are rare to almost non-existent in Central Florida, I was interested to see how their food was...

I ordered the Chicken Soulvlakia Sandwich which was really tasty. The chicken had great flavor, wrapped in a pita with peppers and onions. The sandwich was served with a pickle, fries, and a side of tzatziki. I'd gladly get this again...

Einstein Bros Bagels in Casselberry, FL
Einstein Bros Bagels was giving a coupon for a free bagel & shmear if you became their fan on Facebook. I gladly took them up on their offer and got my free sesame bagel with onion & chive cream cheese from the Einsteins in Casselberry, FL.
Bagels are good. Cream cheese is good. Free is good. What could possibly be bad?

Anthony's Pizza in Casselberry, FL
The last time I ate at Anthony's Pizza was way back when smoking was still allowed in Florida restaurants. I don't remember much about the food, just that the smoking/non-smoking sections did nothing in the small restaurant. The place smelled horribly like an ashtray and left me with no desire to return any time soon.
Fast forward to 2009. After receiving several email recommendations that Anthony's has the best pizza around, I decided to go back and give them another try. Anthony's had a wait when I walked in, so that was a good sign about having good food. The servers initially seemed really flustered by the amount of people in the restaurant, but overall, the service was okay. The half spinach, half meatball pizza that we ordered came out pretty quick. It was a really good pizza with a nice thin crust, a good sauce/cheese ratio, and it was pretty tasty. The sauce had a bit of a strange flavor that I couldn't quite place, but it was otherwise pretty good. I'd gladly get another pizza from Anthony's!

Olde Hearth Bread Company in Casselbery, FL
I came across a bakery that makes really good bread in an industrial park in Casselbery, FL called Olde Hearth Bread Company. While they weren't much of a retail store, they seemed more than happy to sell me a few loaves of bread when I visited. Olde Hearth appears to do most of their business by supplying bread to other local restaurants.

I tried their NY style rye bread, a few semolina rolls, and a loaf of chocolate mango bread. I think the rye was my favorite. Not only was the loaf of bread huge for the low price they charged, it tasted really good and had plenty of caraway seeds in the loaf, just like a good rye bread should.

The semolina rolls were my least favorite. Still pretty good though, although I've had better elsewhere...

The chocolate mango bread definitely was the most unique. It had pieces of chocolate and dried mango baked into the bread. I found the bread was really good toasted so the chocolate got all soft topped with some butter. Apparently they bake this bread for the Tusker House Restaurant at Animal Kingdom.

Salmon from Hibachi Express
I returned to Hibachi Express in Casselberry, FL for a second visit. This time I tried their Teriyaki Salmon. It consisted of pieces of salmon served over stir fried vegetables with steamed rice on the side. I had no complaints, but if I come back and eat here again, I think I will ask for them to leave out the mushrooms in the vegetables.
I took a look at Hibachi Express' website and found some of the stuff on the Welcome page kind of amusing. The place has the typical setup as a Chinese Takeout, so it seems very deceiving how the restaurant is described. I think anyone who calls up to make reservations at Hibachi Express without seeing the restaurant will be disappointed when they arrive.

Habanero's Mexican Grill
I ate at Habanero's Mexican Grill in Casselberry, FL. The meal started with chips and salsa. I liked how they gave everyone their own individual bowl of salsa with a pitcher of salsa on the table for refills. This way, each person at the table could double dip to their hearts content.
For my dinner, I ordered the Enchiladas Supreme. This included four enchiladas, each with a different filling. One was filled with refried beans, another was cheese, the third was beef, and the final enchilada was filled with shredded chicken and peppers. The four enchiladas were topped with sauce, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. I could have done without the beef enchilada, but I liked the other three.
My only complaint was that it would have been nice if they served the enchiladas with a side of rice or beans like other Mexican restaurants often do.
