The Mason Jar in New Smyrna Beach, FL

Smoothies are a food which I am pretty opinionated about. To me, smoothies are something that I can make myself for much cheaper and usually better than what I can purchase out. That's why I was skeptical when someone took me along to get a smoothie bowl from The Mason Jar in New Smyrna Beach.
I ordered a smoothie bowl called Sunrise Pitaya. The whole concept of a smoothie bowl was a new concept for me. I know they've been a thing, but never anything I payed attention to. I'm assuming there was pitaya/dragon fruit in the smoothie itself, along with other ingredients which were tasty. It was topped with strawberries, bananas, and coconut. The whole bowl did taste really good and was a good portion. Still was a bit pricey though, costing more than a meal at some restaurants...

That's Amore in New Smyrna Beach, FL

After a day at New Smyrna Beach, I had dinner at an Italian restaurant called That's Amore. The meal started with a caesar salad.
We shared a Margherita pizza for the main course. The pizza was very tasty with a nice, thin, crispy crust. It was topped with a good amount of cheese, sliced tomato, and basil.
Since pizza from other Italian restaurants in New Smyrna has been disappointing, I'm definitely going to have to add That's Amore as a place to keep in mind after future visits to the beach.

JB's Fish Camp in New Smyrna Beach, FL

JB's Fish Camp
JB's Fish Camp is a restaurant located on the Intercoastal Waterway, right on the border of Canaveral National Seashore. Given JB's location, their outdoor patio has a great view...
JB's View
I ordered the Jumbo Soft Shell Crab Sandwich. Deep fried in a Cajun flavored batter, this soft shell crab was served on a bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese. A pickle and really tasty fries came on the side. I'm always slightly uncomfortable with that initial bite of a soft shell crab. Eating an entire crab is very different than just eating it's meat. Once I get past that first bite though, I'm good. This crab had great flavor, crispy on the outside, but nice and juicy on the inside!

One warning though, beware of the mosquitoes if you're eating outside at dusk!

Lime Ice Cream from Treats on the Beach

Treats on the Beach
I had some ice cream from Treats on the Beach on Flagler Avenue in New Smyrna Beach, FL. I ordered soft serve lime flavored ice cream. I'm not sure exactly how it worked, but they advertised something like twenty six soft serve flavors of ice cream. I only saw two soft ice cream machines, so I don't know where all of these flavors came from. I'm guessing they somehow mixed flavoring syrup in each time they dispensed the ice cream. The ice cream really didn't taste that much like lime and tasted more like vanilla. It was still good as far as soft serve ice cream goes...
