I was up in Tallahassee for a conference at FSU and a catered lunch from Wiregrass Boys Southern Cuisine was involved. Turns out that the lunch was more barbecue (day after I ate lunch at the original Sonny's Bar-B-Q), specifically pulled pork and various sides. The meat was being smoked nearby on site.
The food was served cafeteria-style from foil trays. It was not the most effective system since my food was just slightly above room temperature when I ate. Nothing more appealing than lukewarm meat...
The plate of food involved pulled pork, baked beans, macaroni & cheese, a roll, and chocolate chip cookie. In terms of taste, the sides were all very average and the meat needed some sort of better sauce than the prepackaged Bulls-eye sauce that was supplied.
Overall, the food was pretty average but I honestly was expecting better. Homemade barbecue fresh from a smoker normally is way better than this...

Wiregrass Boys Southern Cuisine strives to provide the highest quality service and food to all diners within the limitations set by Client’s resources and menu selections, as well as venue restrictions and number of diners (close to 1,000 in this case). We were very disappointed to see this post without having heard any feedback from the blog poster previously. In the effort of improving our service, we have reached out to the author in an effort to discuss further the ways in which our meal offering could have been improved. Anyone may feel free to reach out to us at any time to discuss further – wiregrassboys@gmail.com
The Wiregrass Boys recently catered my son's wedding on December 29th, 2012 at Shiloh Farm.
If you had been one of the guests you would have been excited about the food they prepared. Not only did they cater to every detail the Bride requested in terms of the tasty appetizers; The main meal of Pulled Pork was mouth watering, the chicken moist and tender, the green beans crisp and delicious, the ColeSlaw unique and just right, the Macaroni and Cheese incredible. You need to have them host an event for you and you will see that the Wiregrass Boys are the best Southern Cuisine Cooks around. I can still taste how wonderful it was! And there were about 190 guests and the food was hot and plentiful. M.Harper
